Big announcement for Summer 2024! Phantasia will be doing a small tour in the south of England called "Albion's Delight". This features an entirely new, themed programme and we are delighted to be working with soprano Angela Hicks and bassoonist Matthew Dodds to make a quartet.
The theme is Britain at two different points in time - the late 18th and early 21st centuries. All the music is inter-connected and this programme features a wide variety of styles from classical to folk to contemporary.
We were lucky to have been awarded a grant from the Continuo Foundation to make this possible and we are very grateful to them for their support.

Phantasia have been busy over the last few months preparing for the Mysteria project - to perform the complete Biber Mystery Sonatas across 3 concerts in 2024. These pieces are rarely heard live, partly because each sonata requires a differently tuned violin, some in extreme tunings. Emma-Marie is using 7 violins for this project, each tuning gives different possibilities for chordal playing and a unique timbre which Biber exploits fully. The Mystery Sonatas are also partly programmatic, relating to moments from Christ's life, death and resurrection. They are virtuosic in difficulty and push the violin and technique of the time to its limits. We will be joined by harpsichordist David Gostick for these three concerts, which are:
17th February - The Joyful Mysteries
23rd March - The Sorrowful Mysteries
13th April - The Glorious Mysteries
All at St. Hubert's Church, Corfe Mullen, Dorset BH21 3RF
